Report: Mexico to participate in OPEC output freeze meeting Mar

MOSCOW, Feb 26 (PRIME) -- Mexico is ready to participate in a meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC countires to discuss an output freeze in March, Energy Secretary Pedro Joaquin Coldwell told newspaper El Financiero late Thursday.

“Mexico, which is not an OPEC member, is ready to participate in the meeting of oil producers within and beyond this organization in order to analyze a possible freeze of output,” Coldwell said.

Last week, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak agreed to keep oil output at January levels on average in 2016 with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Venezuela. Some other countries joined the initiative while the U.S. and Iran refused to participate. The meeting between oil producers ready to discuss the output limits was slated for mid-March.
